VivaReal launches eCommerce platform

VivaReal.net, one of the fastest growing online real estate marketplaces for expats and retirees to buy, rent and sell real estate in Latin America, has just launched an eCommerce platform to feature property listings on its website. The online checkout allows those wishing to sell or rent property in any of 12 Latin American countries, to do so by purchasing listing subscriptions online.

“During 2009 we maintained a free-to-list model across the board so that users had plenty of time to test our platform, generate free leads and then ultimately transact property,” states the company’s founder, Brian Requarth.

“After spending months repeating this process many times over and over again with our clients, we believe we have a calculated and tangible understanding of the true value VivaReal delivers to its users. As a result, and partly by popular demand, we determined that the first quarter of 2010 was the time to take the next step and offer premium products in all markets, together with listing subscriptions in a select group of ‘hot’ regional markets.

“What makes our online checkout unique is that it allows individuals and companies to select the number of listings and time period, automatically calculating a discounted price. Our clients can select the subscription that is most suitable to their needs and buy directly through our secure website without the hassle of calling in or faxing signed agreements.”

VivaReal has seen unparalleled growth in property searches in Brazil. This is most likely fueled by a growing base of Brazilian internet users (69 million and counting), together with the international excitement from the recent announcements that Brazil will host both the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016. Brazil’s positive press continued soon after as it graced the cover of the November issue of The Economist in a 14 page spread. Looking to benefit from the surge in Brazil, VivaReal has increased its focus on the country. In the fourth quarter of 2009, VivaReal signed landmark agreements with top tier brokerages Century 21 Brasil, Lopes and Brasil Brokers.
