VivaReal’s soft launch in Colombia

Posted on 10. Apr, 2009 by VivaReal Team in News

The Colombian real estate market has seen impressive growth in the last five years. Several years ago, we opened an office in Bogota seeing the opportunity that this country offered. Let’s be honest, real estate isn’t the first thing that people think of when Colombia is mentioned, however, we are really excited about the opportunities. Large real estate franchises like Century 21 and Coldwell Banker started their operations just a few years ago and have grown quite rapidly. Last week we went live with our site, www.VivaReal.com.co. Over the next few months we will be adding property listings and building traffic to the site. We will primarily be focusing on Bogota real estate, but also expand our database to cover the top 10 cities in Colombia.

Recently we got a little press on the New York Times. They wrote an article about the local real estate market in Villa de Leyva. They mentioned the VivaReal Network.

In two weeks, Brian Requarth, company founder and managing director will be teaching a three day seminar at La Lonja de Bogota (this is equivalent to the NAR in the US). The class will cover topics ranging from blogging and social networks to getting maximum exposure for property listings across the Web. The class is called “Tendencias de internet en el sector inmobilario“.

Overall, we are extremely enthusiastic about the online real estate market in Colombia. Just a few months ago, Fabio Rodriguez, social media strategist started a Colombia real estate blog in Spanish. It has been a huge success with a growing subscriber base and over 15,000 visitors a month. This is pretty impressive considering it was launched about 6 weeks ago.

Stay tuned for new developments in the VivaReal Network.
